Rhubarb-Rhubarb presents Hungry... a bursary photographers can really get their teeth into!

Rhubarb-Rhubarb has partnered with Arts Council West Midlands, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and Genesis Imaging to bring to image-makers an offer that will whet your appetite

To coincide with Rhubarb’s tenth birthday, Photographers in the UK are invited to apply for the new Rhubarb/Arts Council Bursary Scheme 2009, where the ten chosen will be profiled at the Rhubarb International Review – July/August this year. Five photographers will be chosen from the West Midlands region and five from the wider uk.

The menu :

Starters
Graduates (who have left university in the last three years), MA students and early entrants into the fine art photographic sector, who have had no significant exhibitions but have a body of work which is yet to be shown. This category includes photographers who are self taught, but does not include
Students at foundation or ba level

Winners will receive
o An exhibition of their work at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, for the period 27th June until 29th August 2009 with a special visit from international reviewers visiting the venue on the evening of Thursday 30th July.Prints produced by Genesis, London

o A free Place at Cultivate, offering 3 twenty minute sessions with photographic fine art specialists and a day of Seminars, topics which include, copyright, digital printing, putting together a portfolio and information about the creative journey all given by industry experts

o Free Ticket for the Rhubarb International Review Seminar on Thursday 30th July 2009

o Attendance at the Rhubarb International Review Portfolio promenade – Saturday 1st August – 7.00pm onwards – showing work to all international reviewers and invited public

Main Course
Photographers who have had at least one significant regional or national exhibition but are not represented by a gallery or agent and have a new body of work, which is yet to be shown.

And

Desserts
Photographers who have shown internationally or had a significant body of work published either in book form or as a feature in a photographic journal or magazine, but do not have an international agent or gallery representation - with a new body of work which has yet to be shown.

Winners in these 2 catagories will receive

o An exhibition of their work at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, for the period 25th June and 29th August 2009 with a special visit from international reviewers visiting the venue on the evening of Thursday 30th July. Prints produced by Genesis, London

o A free day at the Rhubarb International Review, offering six twenty minute sessions with some of the world’s most renowned photographic fine art curators, gallerists, publishers. We recommend you attend the review on Friday 31st July

o Free Ticket for the Rhubarb International Review Seminar on Thursday 30th July 2009

o Attendance at the Rhubarb International Review Portfolio promenade – Saturday 1st August – 7.00pm onwards – showing work to all international reviewers and invited public
