A Portrait Of Hay: Photography Exhibition

A Portrait of Hay
For the last 3 years, staff and students from the degree courses at Hereford College of Arts have had an annual expedition to photographically explore a single hamlet, village or town. This inspires all of us to work together and celebrates the fact that we all have individual visions and photographic approaches towards one common location.
This year the courses descended upon Hay-on-Wye, accompanied by the renowned photographer and film maker John Bulmer, to make a comprehensive photographic record of life there. The resulting images form an exhibition which celebrates many different visual responses and interpretations from many photographers to one place, reflecting the unique qualities that make a small town, from it’s architecture to its people.
The exhibition is open during the Hay Literary Festival.

The exhibition will take place in a brand new gallery (this is their first exhibition), situated on the Lizard peninsula and close to the Helford River and Frenchman's Creek. The exhibition is in a beautifully restored barn surounded by stunning gardens. We have decided to hold the Private View on a Saturday afternoon so that friends and families can visit the exhibition and then, if they so wish, enjoy the gardens and surounding countryside. As well as the usual wine and food, we are hoping to put on some entertainment for children too.
